Types of Braces

In the past, getting braces meant one thing: wearing traditional metal braces.

Now, there are new, more modern types of braces (including Invisalign® clear aligners) available and patients have a choice in their treatment!

Additionally, traditional metal braces have greatly improved over the years, making them more effective and more comfortable than ever before. We offer the following types of high-quality braces for children, teens and adults.

Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most common form of braces used in orthodontic treatment, due to their effectiveness and low cost when compared to most other types of braces. They have been greatly improved over the years, using higher quality materials, sleeker designs, and more comfortable treatment methods.

You can personalize your braces colors easily with colored elastics and even special brackets. If your smile requires an added appliance to help guide your teeth into a healthy alignment, we provide Forsus™ Fatigue Resistant Devices as well as other orthodontic appliances that aid adolescents’ growth to treat overbites and misalignments.

Clear Ceramic Braces

Many of our patients come to us seeking a form of non-detectable, invisible braces! To provide our patients with as many options as possible, we provide 3M™ Clarity™ Ceramic Braces for the top dental arch. Ceramic braces are clear, blending in with the natural color of the teeth, but they’re just as effective as traditional, metal braces.

Gold Braces

Are you someone who likes to stand out from the status quo? Gold braces are a great treatment for patients who require a traditional braces treatment, but prefer the look of gold brackets and wires. This treatment is equally as effective as metal braces; they just have a different appearance!

Invisalign® Clear Aligners

Invisalign isn’t technically a type of braces, but since it does the same thing that braces do, it’s often classified as such. Invisalign is often called “invisible braces”. The system uses clear, removable aligners that are designed to place strategic pressure on the teeth, shifting them into an ideal alignment. See how Invisalign works!

What is the best age to get braces?

Any age is the right age to begin your treatment with braces. You can experience the advantages of metal braces as a child, teen or adult!

When you or your child visits us for your complimentary consultation, one of our experienced orthodontists will examine your condition to determine whether treatment is necessary or would be beneficial. We’ll tell you everything you need to know about your condition in order for you to make an informed decision about your smile!
